Transitioning to Agile Practices in the Federal Environment


Date: Monday, June 3
Time: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM EDT

Learn how the application of Agile methodologies to federal projects is more than just changing product development or contracting practices—it is a mindset. This course addresses strategies, practices, and quality concepts that help facilitate a transition to effective Agile practices that will transform and empower your organization thereby providing maximum value to the customer and contributing to the long-term success of your organization’s goals.

Recommended for those with experience in project management- this course is geared toward leaders, managers, and teams who are adopting Agile project management to improve project delivery, and complement and enhance traditional project management rigor.

This full Management Concepts course is offered as a benefit to AAFEA LDW attendees, and requires pre-registration through the AAFEA LDW registration portal. Participants must attend the full 8 hours to receive credit.

Executive Leadership Workshop

Dive into high-level leadership topics in this day-long immersive experience, examining timely issues in the workplace with a blend of presentations, open discussion, and group work. Explore a breadth of topics from change management in support of the project management process to the ways neurodiversity is being addressed in the workplace as a component of DEIA initiatives.

This workshop requires pre-registration through the AAFEA LDW registration portal. Participants must attend the full 8 hours to receive a certificate of attendance.

2nd Annual Partnership Appreciation Holiday Charity Social

2020 was a remarkable year, and while we couldn’t mingle in person, we were pleased that hosting the happy hour virtually enabled more of our partnership members, who are spread out across the country, to join us. Executive Director Tyra Dent Smith spoke on behalf of AAFEA. For our charity selection for 2020, we encouraged our partnership members to donate to their local food banks to support those in need in their own communities.

AAFEA Leadership Development Workshop

Management Concepts was pleased to host the 16th Annual AAFEA Leadership Development Workshop on our virtual learning platform. The 2020 Workshop was held as an online event for the first time in AFFEA’s history.

Management Concepts also presented two sessions at the event, “Managing Change” and “Cultivating Motivation & Engagement,” part of the Professional Government Supervisor Program, a customizable private group training experience aligned with the OPM Core Competencies.
